Tokyo is putting us to challenge and at the end of the day we’re pretty tired. So here we are to recover the lost thread.
The arrival in Tokyo proved to be shocking. The chaos of the stations of the Japanese capital is in stark contrast to the tranquility left in Koyasan. We are left to deal with an impressive bustle of people. Distances are amplified 100 times and impossible not to take public transport.
First day at the museum, thanks to inclement weather: rain all day, we did not have much choice.
But luckily it was expected. The Tokyo National Museum, the largest in Japan, it seems, has an interesting collection regarding the history and Japanese culture from the Paleolithic to the present.
It was nice to hear a story that hardly studied in school. We try to do some shopping, but we do not find much of a choice.
The climax of the day: photos under the giant statue of a life-size Gundam. A must-see for fans like me:-)
Day 2: March 21, spring is upon us. The cherry trees are not in bloom yet but we are close. You already know about the Ghibli Museum thanks to Marie. A little disappointing and especially I could not take pictures inside…
After the brief visit, we return to Tokyo for a quiet walk in Ueno Park. There are a lot of cherry trees. Do not ask, there are no flowers.
So the results of the first two days in Tokyo is not very eventful, but we needed to get back gently before launching the second part of the trip. And of kilometers we have made a lot all the same.
So far so good…
