Another day where time become elastic between two airports, fills your eyes and your head. We got up at four in the morning (did I already tell you about the concept of “holidays” of my husband?), to take the plane and fly over a sea of clouds during the three hours that lasted the journey. My book this time transported me to Korea, with a taste of Japan.
Upon arrival, we could not really distinguish what was clouds and what looked like mountains. There are times when the boundaries are rather vague and misleading. Iceland welcomed us with freshness and a bit of rain. But as the saying goes, in Iceland, if the rain does not suit you, wait 5 minutes. We were able to observe the veracity of the saying several times during the day. A little rain and a lot of wind, enough to cook our cheeks and tone the skin.
Xim had the excellent idea to book a guided tour of Reykjavick with a local guide who told us with a lot of humor the history of the city (yes, Nelly, it was a 2 km walk without difficulty) where one learns with irony that murderers become vikings, elevated to the rank of explorers, and thus the victors finally write the story. If the entry of Reykjavick has nothing to envy to our hideous entrances of French cities, the center has on the other hand an incredible charm, all in color.
Our accommodation this evening is cramped (and it’s an understatement), but for an evening it will be perfect. It is 50 meters from Reykjavick Church. In life, you can not have everything …
And tomorrow, we leave on the road n ° 1 …
