Today, you will not hear any complaints about these idiots tourists disturb my contemplation cherry blossom (that is, the flowering has begun…) we were a small committee for the two visits of the day.
We started to greet Buddha at Toji temple.
The photos and sketches are prohibited inside, we can show the flyer only in Japanese but with photos on our return.
The weather is gorgeous, the cherry “blossomisent” (awful neologism French-English we use several times a day…) and the world is perfect for us.
Then, driving to Nijo Castle, home of the shoguns before becoming imperial residence during the Meiji era.
The decoration of the portals made me think about what we had seen in Nikko, a Chinese-inspired style, with intricately carved reliefs and many, many colors.
Nijo Castle is equipped with an anti ninja system: the floor corridors is designed to make noise with every step. Impossible for a malicious or unauthorized person to go undetected.
The Treasure of the castle consists of frescoes painted on the walls, with tigers and leopards, chrysanthemums, cranes … I must admit that my favorite pattern is found in corridors, where an artist has painted clouds, very simple but which geometric shapes give an air of Klimt. Yes, it is indeed very surprising.
Again, photos and sketches are banned…
Fortunately, we stayed in the garden, of Zen inspiration (they try to grow rocks: P).
And the cherry blossom…
