This November saw us in Rennes, for a little tourism, but especially for an aikido seminar led by Hitohira Saito sensei from Japan.
We were close to 100 on the mat, from all over Europe and even some from the United States, to follow his teaching. I was impressed by the atmosphere very studious, very sporty, but also very respectful (this is normal: it is Japanese).
We were unfortunately Xim and I inadequately prepared physically, so past three days, saying that we are “all broken” is an understatement. We discovered again the existence of certain muscles because of pain, and I do not think I can repeat (or rather be as uke) of “iriminage” for a week, although my neck regained some mobility. Yesterday, we looked like old people. Tonight, aches have already faded and we enjoyed a beautiful Breton day.
It will be with great pleasure that we will find some practicing at upcoming courses. Personally, I am very motivated to prepare for the transition to black belt, although I am aware that I have a lot of work to do especially in taijutsu (working with bare hands).
And anyway, this is classy:
(Although it is not yet completed…)
